A zip line is a means of transportation down a sloped cable utilizing a freely moving pulley which is suspended from the cable. Gravity pulls the participant who is attached to the cable via the pulley down the length of the cable.

Zip lines can be considered entertainment, but they also allow the participants to experience a thrill well outside their normal comfort zone, leaving them with a deep sense of satisfaction for their accomplishment.
