A high ropes course generally is fixed or moveable objects that are 12 feet or higher off the ground and require special safety equipment. A traditional belay system on a high ropes course connects a climber to a belayer via a dynamic climbing rope. The traditional belay gives the climber the opportunity to develop trust and communication with their belayer.

As with low ropes courses, a high ropes course allows participants to engage in activities that may take the individual out of their normal comfort zone, while challenging them to complete a personalized goal.
